omg this is great! I work (and live part-time) with two autistic women and boy-o-boy they test my ability to accept things. This really resonated. I hope you find a few moments of piece soon.

I loved reading this insight, it sounds absolutely exhausting though, you deserve a dozen medals if not more!

This was wonderful Robin!

I loved that you juxtaposed some of the advice given in meditation classes with the real world experience of caring for your son — it’s such a brilliant dichotomy. :)

This resonates with me so much. Just this morning I went to confession at the church up the street (I’m Catholic), and the poor priest got an earful about the stresses. I haven’t been in a meditative mode at all either. Quite the opposite. It’s hard. Hugs. Glad you’re here and writing. I’ve got two autistic adult sons so it’s nice to connect somehow with other parent going through similar experiences.

Thanks, Zina - it is a challenge for sure, and I felt like I was only barely able to describe what this experience is like! It’s so much our “usual” that it can be hard to explain. Hope your stresses ease a bit, too. One day at a time, yeah?
