In four fragments. -- A small frog squats on my desk between my keyboard and monitor. He’s light tan, almost yellow. He seems content to watch me while I work and his almost-smile reminds me to chill.
I really love following along and seeing what you're working on, Robin. I'm popping through a handful of Substacks that I enjoy seeing in my feed and sending out some paid subscriptions. I hope to see you in the discussion threads soon. ☀️
I loved this little gathering of different facets of flexibility! Great that you followed the suggestion to put them together. And I’m in awe of that ONE sentence in #4. Freakin’ amazing. A writing teacher suggested to me long ago that I play around with trying to fill a whole page with one sentence. It’s so hard for me to do, it happens only once in a blue moon. But look at you! Love it.
Thank you! That sentence was so fun to create - I've got to give a shout out to @Nina Schuyler at Stunning Sentences - her weekly prompts have really opened my eyes to how words can play together. It was hard to read this one out loud, though, looking for the right places to breathe, ha!
Robin, this was great. I listened to the audio version and I think the drum beat in between each section was really effective.
I really liked the frog candle bit - that was sweet and relatable. And I loved the way you summed up all your frustrations in section four and the word play with the tread of the boot and the poop — very well written.
Also I don’t know what’s wrong with your knees so I doubt I can help with two sentences... but magnesium, cold showers, walking every day, and a consistent exercise routine (all of which you probably already know) have done wonders for all my skateboard- related injuries.
Thanks, Michael! I had fun with those drumbeats, I felt like I need something to literally change the “beat.” I appreciate your comments. I am trying to keep to a regular exercise routine (which is part of why my knees are complaining…!), but yes on the magnesium, thanks for that reminder!
💛 what a great piece of writing, I loved the different fragments, each very unique but they flowed well together. I’m glad you shared a photo of the frog, it made me smile 😊

Wow, Amanda, thank you! I appreciate you popping by with that gift 😊

Loved this...especially the frog!
Thanks! Would you light him? I just can't... :) :)
No way! He’s too cute!

Thank you! And, he makes me smile so much, too :)
