You made me really feel your desperation. And it is such an interesting experience because on one hand your happy and proud of your son for going on his first solo bike ride and the other your terrified of him getting too far away from you — a wonderful juxtaposition.
Aaaaah Robin, I was such a boy, but way back then there was no one to tell my mother anything other than that I was a "slow learner" I survived. My diagnosis only arrived in my 8th decade. My wild life has become understandable at last. I am currently in conversation with a colleague on starting a substack as an open help platform. More info soon enough. Peace to you and yours, Maurice
Looking forward to your writing! It’s always interesting for me to hear perspectives that can give me clues about my son’s way of seeing the world. Thanks for reading!
So powerful, Robin! You take us right with you, every flavor of each emotion. My heart is pounding now too. What a powerful piece.
Thank you so much! My heart still pounds every time I read and remember.
Wow I am so glad I listened to this! So relatable!
Thank you!
Oh wow my heart was jumping! The unpredictability makes it so difficult to work
Out wether it’s over reaction or the right amount of caution, these situations are so difficult!
You had me with you all the way.
Thank you!
Robin, this was such a gripping story.

Thank you, and yes, that complication of feelings is exactly it. Even now, I walk that line.
You captured the complication very well. :)
