This is so poignant, Robin, and beautifully expressed. You take this great big swirling, overwhelming reality we're facing and show us how it's personal.
I have many of the same thoughts of gratitude. In the large scheme of things, taking care of my spectrum son is the most important. Both of our sons are among the marginalized population and it is up to us to secure their future. We don't have time to grouse over a situation we cannot control. What we can do is more ahead, one step at a time.
Nice work, Robin. It's a good thing that you can write such—uhm—thoughtful lines that prompt us both to understand aspects of our lives and to recognize what helps those lives be good. Thanks!
Yes, I agree that this (waving my arm in a sweeping way) sucks. And, yes, I think that this (offering my hand, palm up, toward Robin's post) is the reverse of sucky.
[Marnie, this is a long shot: Do I know you from a class about learning disabilities decades ago?]
Robin's writing definitely doesn't suck and she's always been eloquent despite navigating living in a country that doesn't seem to give 2 cents about so many people. I don't believe I've ever attended a class on learning disabilities and will admit much of my limited knowledge comes from listening to Robin and other friends who have kids with different abilities.
This got me…thank you 🫂

Thank you Addie. It is so so personal…!!
Absolutely is, and so important to share how.
This is beautiful & yet so sad that this is where we are at…
thank you - and thank you for continuing to support our community the way you do!

Yes, exactly, thank you.

Thank you, gearing up for what's next, same as it ever was...
This sucks so badly.
Yes it does

This is so beautiful!
thank you. I was hoping to write soooo differently...
Same my friend!!
I hope things go well for you in maintaining the rights and services for your son, Robin.
Thanks, Michael. We'll be ok. I'm more worried about lots of others right now and will be trying to help where I can
