Greetings! Hope the weather is fine where you are! Over here, it’s like this:
My kid loves his dad – even if he doesn’t exactly express it on Father’s Day. At my suggestion, he picked out a greeting card – he chose one with Mickey Mouse – and with my help wrote, “i love you dad” inside. He also offered his dad a treat jar filled with nuts and pretzels that he made at his day program – and kept eyeing it so much that my husband finally opened it and let our son enjoy the “Happy Father’s Day” snack himself.
But my son’s grin gets huge when he sees his dad; he will often laugh and say, “Diamond Daddy!” This is one of several inside jokes that our son laughs about, but we have no idea what it means. He uses it to get his dad’s attention and repeats it between joyful giggles when they hang out together on the couch. Sometimes my boy mysteriously adds: “Chinatown! Diamond Daddy!” and then he laughs and laughs. We don’t know where this came from or why it’s so funny (personally, I think my son is dropping clues that his father is leading some kind of double life). But my husband is a gem – the kid is right about that!
That’s the view from here - more soon!
